Sorry to hear you are having such a time of it -- it's definitely a bummer to be so limited on what you can take. I wish you a very speedy recovery! Take good care of yourself and get LOTS of rest!

home sick

Hi all:

Just wanted to fill you in on where things are with me right now. I started becoming sick on Wenesday and quickly went into the Docs on Thursday. He put me on Amoxicillan and insulin. Friday my blood sugar rose to 527 and I called them only to never hear back.

Tonight I ended up in emergency.....pretty bad when everyone still remembers me from my Cardiac Arrest and AICD implant 2 months ago. I have been coughing up so much stuff that my head was killing me, I couldn't sleep for days (made me crazy), my blood sugar was staying in the 400's and causing me blurry and dry eyes. They're calling it Bronchitas but not sure that fits. I have trouble because I can't take antihistamines, decongestants or any kind of cough suppressant. I'm screwed. They changed my antibiotic and gave me tylenol with codeine but that's not gonna really do it. Best they can do.... Good thing this is email, most people can't understand more than one word in five. Just call me froggy or croaky.

I have not replied to all email yet as my brain isn't able to totally reflect my feeilings.

Take care and hope for my speedy recovery.

**types post a second time after cat erases first one**

As I was saying, I'm home sick today, got the flu. When I got up this morning if felt like a tossup as to whether I'd live or die. I'm a little better now but throat is still so raw. Hope everyone is faring well and sticking to program.*~*~*~*"You can deprive the body, but the soul needs chocolate" -Sapphyre*~*~*~*"Giving Up Is Not An Option ..." - Sapphyre

Oh, no! You haven't had any luck the past few weeks, have you?

Hopefully you have some cans of chicken soup to hold you over until you

feel better. Bundle up and we'll see you on the flip side of this bug.

Dang. You got a flu and a raw throat?? Sounds like a double whammy (cold and flu??) Poor Sapphy. Staying in bed and resting up, I hope.

My son gets those headaches ever since he was a little

kid. Nothing helps them but darkness and quiet.

Sometimes they're gone in a few hours but many times

they last for a few days.

> Hasn't killed my appetite

though. Why is it when most people get sick they

can't eat, and I can eat a horse? Even when I have

the flu and can't smell or taste, I want tons of

food.

That's me, too. Food helps the body heal, fuels it so it can repair

any damage, whether from a fever or headache. Food makes me feel

better. Lack of food stresses me out and makes things worse.

>Gorgeous day today it's 61 degrees

right now and sunny, breezy. Lows tonight in the upper

30s FINALLY.

After having a few days in the upper 70's and

unable to sleep at night because our bedroom was in the 80's, the

coolness was a welcome relief. Unfortunately, our landlord doesn't

agree and although this morning when I woke up it was only 39, none

of the radiators were even warm and this room where the computer in,

a room without a radiator, it's only 52. It'll warm up as the sun

comes around this afternoon, but for now I'm sitting here in flannel

PJ's wearing 2 sweatshirts and still cold.

The past 2 days we were out more than in. Saturday we went to Ed's

aunt's, as usual, then spent the rest of the day searching the state

for a new microwave, as our started making a ghastly noise when I

tried to make my oatmeal Saturday morning. Sounded like it was

haunted! Do you know how hard it is to find a microwave oven with

2.2 cubic foot capacity? We finally found one store that had one -

unopened - and had them put it aside for us until we got there. We

did find the one we wanted at one of the 2 Walmarts we tried, but

all 4 boxes had been opened, all the boxes were damaged, and in 2 of

them the glass tray was cracked in half. Most of the other stores we

hit said to order from their web site, IF they offered that size at

all.

Then yesterday we hit a number of stores looking for a fan. Ever try

find a fan in late October? It couldn't be just any fan, either, but

a small 6" one, either clip on or box shape, to fit on a shelf so it

could blow on the Playstation 3. The fan my son had been using

decided to die overnight. If only it stopped by Saturday morning we

could have looked for it at the same time we were looking for the

microwave, but NOOOOOO! We finally located one in a K-Mart a few

miles away when the salesman in the large appliances department

volunteered to roam around in the stockroom. Even he was surprised

he found one! It helped that he was around the same age as our son

and knows how hot PS3s run and said he keeps a fan blowing on his

when he's playing on it, too. LOL
