Guest guest Report post Posted August 9, 2006 In an earlier DVD I am now viewing (Yasko) with a small group of parents, she says excess glutamate triggers the sleep problems the kids have. Also, excess glutamate is well known to be invovled in the neuro/inflammatory diseases she focussed on before aproaching autism (parkinsons, ms, lou gehrigs etc). Strep causes an increase in glutamate. And it likes excess glutamate. Strep creates toxins including streptokinase, this helps it grow, this enzyme increases TNF alpha and increases IL-6 (inflammatory cytokine), which decrease methylation...You can start to see the vicious cycle here. Casein and gluten are 25% glutamate. Too much glutamate, leading to decreased glutathione, and too much TNF alpha. She has had some patients, glutamate and gaba are influenced by hormone levels, she has had women patients who get strep during their periods monthly. Glutamate is going up, strep is stimulated. Supplement glutathione in such case.
