Welcome to our group. My 42 year old daughter was diagnosed with AIH in

July of this year. I, like you, had many questions , since I had never

heard of this disease before. This is a great group as far as sharing

experiences and knowledge. If you have trouble getting information, I have

saved many files in the past months and would be happy to share. Let me

know. Also the archives are loaded with materials. You will find that

address at the bottom of most emails. It is

-Yes, Dr. Brackmann was my surgeon. He was great. It'll be 4 weeks

this Monday since I've had my CWD and so far so good. It's my first

(and hopefully last, besides the reconstruction) time tackling ctoma.

Feel free to ask me anything I can answer I will be happy to do.

These brands are best ordered online rather than through a local

health food store. Twinlab has each of the ones you want, too, I

think and can be ordered through a HFS.

Try Galaxy International Foods Rice slices. I get it at my local health food

store. My son likes the pepper jack flavor on pizza. It's not really spicy,

just a hint of pepper. It's GFCFSF and contains no preservatives. It also

melts under the broiler.

I've switched from rice milk to Dari-free, sold by Kirkmans. It's also GFCFSF.

We've been using canola oil instead of butter, even on toast. My son eats it

fine, I just add a little salt to the oil and drizzle it on. Fleishman's diet

margarine is supposed to be GFCFSF but it contains partially hydrogenated oils

so I rarely use it.

Hope this helps.

[ ] Many questions

Hi all,

Our DAN doc prescribed some supplements I can't find:

-MCT oil ( medium chain triglycerides): does anyone know of a brand of

MCT? Stores where I didn't find it said they could order it for me

if I knew what brand makes it.

-Magnesium citrate: I use to give magnesium oxide; I found Magnesium

citrate just in the form of tablets, I wonder if anyone knows of a brand

that makes capsules of it.

Latest tests showed sensitivity to soy bean and many nuts including

almonds:

-Are there other brands of GFCF rice milk besides Pacific?

- Is there any GFCFSF icecream? Cheese? Margarine?

TIA for any help,

Sophia

Be aware that Dari-Free does (or at least did, if it's the same as what used to

be Vance's Dari-Free) contain significant amounts of titanium and some kids

using it were coming back with high titanium on their hair tests.

Hi,

Dr. Amy's site at www.holisticheal.com sells Mag. Citrate (that's

where we get ours), here is the link

http://www.holisticheal.com/store/product.php?

productid=27 & cat=0 & page=1

We get our MCT oil from our DAN! office, the brand is Vitamin

Research Products, 16 fl. oz. I think we paid like $13.00 for it. The

website on the bottle says www. vrp.com.

I can't help you with the other things, sorry.

We use Pacific brand low fat vanilla almond mylk, available at HFS and some

mainstream groceries in their health aisle. We don't drink it straight, but use

it on cereal, for baking and in hot chocolate. It's better cold than room

temperature.

Hi there, ooooohhhhh dont ever " chug water " if you feel like

something is stuck! that is very bad for your band! I have made

that mistake and it only took me once, because there was pain and it

was really bad. When you do that you are stretching your pouch and

putting more pressure on your band. I would almost think it would

be better to pb then to chug water! you will have to be very careful

after your fill! there may be certain types of food that you will

have to avoid. most people have problems with meats and veggies. I

was so nervous after my fill to go to public places. But what I have

learned to do (especially in a social situation) is take foods that I

know will go down well and eat very slowly! I also visit and talk so

it will help me to eat slower. so if you eat very slowly and chew

very well and avoid certain foods you should be fine. You will learn

what works for you and what doesnt. You do want to avoid pb'ing if

at all possible, but sometimes you just cant avoid it. It sort of

comes with the territory of the band. One thing that happens after a

fill that can be frusturating is the lack of food you can eat.

sometimes a bite or two is all you will be able to do. My family

feels sorry for me sometimes because I have gotten so frusturated.

You sit down to eat and it taste so good and you just want more, not

because of hunger, but because it is so yummy. and sometims a bite

of something just doesnt fullfill your needs. But when that happens

I try to tell myself that I signed up the band and when I did I

realized that I put food in a different place in my life when I did

this. Food is no longer the outlet, the cruch, the friend, the

comfort. It is just food! So, with your new restriction will come

new mental and physical stuff! I am getting one next week and I am a

bit nervous too. It is my second, and I know I will be going through

all of these emotions again. But we just have to keep our eyes on

the prize and realize that there is a much bigger picture to look

at. :-) So take it easy with yourself and be good to your band!

hugs,

==> Liz, all of your problems are because you have candida, so it is

extremely important that you follow the diet very carefully,

including not eating grains. Grains will cause you much more

problems and symptoms. Until you can eliminate them the rest of the

program cannot help you.

Dear Necromanser,

Table:

Measure 2 inches from the edge, you need to work. beyond that point and the

width could be about 2 feet. Height about 3 ft and length about 5 feet. That

could simulate a horizontal hood.

.

An anti-cancer drug site was just recently posted by Kerri. Try older messages

or go to the pharmacology folder for this site.

Hope this helps,

look into Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia and Asthma, There are many

factors that can cause your tiredness. Not breathing well Asthma can make you

really, really tired and not sleep well, and always fatigued. I had asthma my

whole life and it was not caught until I was 30yrs old. Things that cause asthma

using chemical cleaners, chemical anything in your home. I could go on and on

with information, but really look things up you will find your answer.

Diane,

I had a few skin tags that dropped off within a week of starting MMS.

I have heard others report the same, both here and on the LS forum.

I am new to the site so please bear with me. I recently was diagnosed as having

low T and given a prescription for Androgel 5 mg/1ce a day. I have been taking

it for about 4 days and been trying to do research on the internet. I haven't

really felt any changes in anything(moods, less fatigue, etc). Is it really too

early and if so, how long should I take it before I begin to notice tangible

results?

Also, I have read from others that they prefer and got better results from

injections rather than gel. And those who took the gel preferred that over the

patches. First of all, I have a phobia of needles and could never give myself

injections( I would be highly stressed should I be told that I have diabetes and

would have to give myself shots.) My insurance covers the gel. Given this, do

you think they would also cover injections and would they have to be pre

authorized just like the gel or since that has already been approved, would that

just convert over to the injections?

I have also read that many have endocrinologists that they see for this. Would

you reccomend that I see an endocrinologist rather than my family physician?

And if so, why?

How often and what sort of tests should I be having run while on Androgel? What

tests should I have had run before being prescribed Androgel? The only thing

that I had run was blood work?

How often should I have tests run? The doctor also never said how long I should

take Androgel? Is it given that it will be for life or should there be a limit

or time frame on it? And how can I get levels and results since I have started

this?

Am I being too forward on asking for a printout for records regarding my T

levels, etc to insure that it is indeed effectively working?

Your help will be greatly appreciated. I am a new member and new to this. I

also am a 59 year old, white male with high blood pressure, high cholesterol,

gerd(anti-reflux).

Feel free to email me at calvinstucker@...

Hi Calvin and Welcome,

Your starting on a low does a starter dose if it's enough you will feel

something in about 10 days. If you do feel a little better and it falls back by

2 weeks call your Dr. tell him. Your base T levels can fall lower then you

started. This can happen because your brain sees the T in your blood and slows

down sending the LH and FSH messages to your testis and they stop making the T

your were making before going on Androgel. And if the 5 gram dose is not enough

your can feel lower then you started.

So I tell men get tested again in two weeks to be sure the gel is getting

through your skin and the dose is high enough. Some Dr. a lot of them don't do

this they put men on gels and tell them to come back in 30 to 90 days and if the

gel is not working they end up lower and feel worse.

I feel if a man can pay for the gel or it's covered by a health care plain it's

the best type of TRT to try first and if it works the best.

The big problem with going on gels is if you have a Thyroid problem men with

this problem can get a thicker skin and the gels or creams can't get through the

skin and there levels don't come up.

You need to get your Total and Free T levels up into the upper 1/3 of your labs

range. And you need to test your Estradiol levels they should be at about 20

pg/ml some men do good at 30. If your levels are to high it will kill your sex

life. One way to tell if your to high is the lose of your involuntary nocturnal

erections that appear during REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep.

http://www.sexdictionary.info/erection_nocturnal.html

Almost all men over 50 can end up with higher levels of Estradol E2 then the

women in there life. So you need to test this should be tested before going on

TRT if it's high it can lower your T levels and if you fix this your levels can

come back up some 200 to 300 points. Read these links.

http://www.lef.org/magazine/mag2008/nov2008_Dangers-of-Excess-Estrogen-in-the-Ag\

ing-Male_01.htm

Endo's and Uro's are not good Dr.'s for low testosterone don't waste your time.

Go to Dr. 's site at www.allthingsmale.com he is one of the best male

hormone Dr.'s in the world and he puts this on his site free for you and your

Dr. So read TRT: A Recipe for Success and his HCG update print this out and

give it to your family Dr. In this are labs you need and why.

Shots are not that bad once you get going on them if you need them. We have

found we can do them with smaller needles and we do them into the thigh no pain.

Be careful not to get the gel on your skin on your wife or your Grand kids it

can make them dam sick. When I was on Androgel I put the gel on my upper arms

and shoulders and down my back as far as I could reach. Spread it around but

don't rub it in let it dry from wet then put on a T shirt to keep it from

getting on any kids or your wife. At night before your go to bed with your wife

shower the gel off.

When you do labs on gels get up shower real good go to the labs get your labs in

the morning come home and put on the gel after they take your blood. If you put

the gel on first and do labs in less then 6 hrs it can spike up your labs and

look very high. Your Dr. will see this and lower your dose and you will crash.

All ways get a copy of your labs so you can post them and we all can talk about

them and give better help.

Going on TRT is for life so this is why we tell men to find out why they are low

first before going on TRT.

Here are some things that cause low T and if you fix them your levels can come

back up.

Stress, Sleep Problems, High Iron levels, a low Grade Infection like a tooth the

list is long.

In this link it has the most info about low T I ever seen on one place.

http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=450553

And in this link it talks about low T and high Estradiol and where you need to

get your labs to feel better.

http://www.griffinmedical.com/male_hormone_modulation_therapy.html

This is a lot to take in here take your time and learn about this so you know

your getting the best care from your Dr. If you have more questions just ask.
