I have done it for a cold. I boiled 1 cup of distilled water which I then let
cool to room temp. In a neti pot, I added 1/8 teaspoon real salt, 1/8 teaspoon
baking soda, and 3 drops of 5% Lugol's, and filled to the top with the distilled
water. I did this once or twice daily. If I used much more than 3 drops it
burned my nose sort of like when you get swimming pool water up your nose.

My purpose was not to absorb iodine as much as to see if I could kill bacteria
in my nasal passages. I would also take a teaspoon of vitamin c crystals by
mouth as needed and generally I could keep my nasal passages clear until the
cold ended.

Hi I use a Neti pot and use the salt/BS combo and that is a great idea with the iodine. Do you do it only when you have a cold and sinus or could you do it once weekly. By the way where would I get distillers water. I just found out that some company's add fluoride to their distillers water so where does on buy it without . Thanks raeSent from my iPodOn Dec 17, 2011, at 1:26 AM, "nlog10" <nlog10@...> wrote:

Yes Dr Brownstein has told me that he has done it with patients but I do not know the concentration he uses.

I imagine doing it weekly would be OK, but really don't know. I buy distilled
water at Walmart or some grocery stores. I don't think they could add fluoride
and still call it distilled water; I do think that some bottled " drinking water "
has chemicals added, though.

There is a fine line between giving treatment advice and information about usages. He uses iodine for many purposes. He can't possibly put them all into a book. His goal was to introduce you to the concept and benefits of iodine.

Steph:

It would be SO HELPFUL, if Dr. Brownstein had this kind of information in one of his books, but he doesn't and that is help we could all use, right?

Thanks,
Bonnie

Hi,

I'm new here. Doc wants my son to nebulize iodine...said to use Triquench...3
drops in sterile saline...for parasites...as part of overall lyme
treatment....to kill parasites hiding out in the lungs so that when the lyme is
treated the lyme bugs don't go hide inside the parasites.... anyone done this
treatment before...any issues to be aware of? Said to start with 1X per week
and work up to 3X per week... any labs we should be monitoring? Doc says he has
only used this on about 10 patients so far, but apparently Dr. Dietrich
Klinghardt uses this approach... oh, and we have an Aeroneb nebulizer...they
are very cool...easy to use and easy to clean as they hsve no tubing...but
Aeroneb says it is an off-label use and invalidates the warranty....

Thanks, Sue V.

Try searching through the posts. Over the years there have been several people
who used this method. You can do an advanced search. Curezone probably has
info on this also.

Hi,

Still wondering if anyone in this group has actually nebulized iodine before and
was it helpful, anything to watch out for, what kind and dosing of iodine did
you use? thanks, sue
