Cll cells detected after CR for 18 months.

Hello everyone:

Just got on this board. Hope I can help w/ my experiences w/ CLL.

Quickly-- dx in 2000 @ 15000 wbc went to 80,000 in 2004 w/ swelling

of lym nodes in abdomin - treated w/ FCR - got 80% reduction - then

treated w/ Campath and got a CR after BMB and blood flow cytometry.

wbc stayed at 4.5 until about 6 weeks ago then went to 6.9 Lym went

from 3 to 5 - had blood flow cytometry test - indicated small amount

of CLL cells detected. have appointment w/ dr first of Feb.

Question- has anyone had a similar situation and how long did one go

before more treatment was necessary. Does the CLL come back faster

the second time or stay at a slow progression - my B2M at dx was .9

or 1.9 can't remember - just above normal level. I am a trisomy 12 on

the FISH test. Is it best to treat second time earlier or just W & W

again. have a head cold for 3 weeks now- all stuffy - can't seem to

shake it!

Maybe Dr. can comment.
