Welcome Dot from one new member to another!

This group is very helpful and caring! I have had

several responses to many questions that I have had

about AIH. Keep us informed. By the way, my best

friend in England is Dot! Take care.

Hi all

I'm new to this club. I was diagnosed with

drug-induced hep

[flucloxacillin] back in 1989 and since have developed

cirrohsis.

Everything is okay at present except for a lot of

fluid problems,

which I can control by overdosing on lasix [as lots of

others I'm

sure], but now I am developing a lot of pins and

needles in my

fingers and toes and feel it could be related to too

much medication

for fluid. Can anyone help me out here? I am also

on Urso,

Deralin, Aldactone [also for fluid] and Losec.

Unfortunately I

can't get to my Dr prior the 19th Jan as he is on

holidays and I was

hoping for any advice that could help.

Kind regards

Dot [sydney Australia]

Thanks very much Kathy. It is really lovely to meet so many

wonderful friendly and helpful people. I too have found everyone

to be very supportive and very ready to help out, but just the same

no-one has yet been able to answer me on this question of pins and

needles. Perhaps I'm on my own here??

Kind thoughts

Dot [sydney Australia]

Hi Dot,

I've got the tingling in my fingers and toes, but it's due to

primary biliary cirrhosis, not meds. Much worse right now due to

the weather - going back to the negative numbers tomorrow...ugh! Oh

well, the price you pay to stay in New England, I guess.

Good luck,

Sandy C.

hi amanda i was wondering if you have your neck fused or not? before i had

mine fused my legs would just give way and i would fall as well has having some

of the same feelings you are having. this could be because your neck is

decompressing (i think that's the right word for it) and it might be pinching

some

nerves. now i'm not an expert on this and i'm only 18 and just telling you

what i went through before my surgery. hope this helps a little. by the way i

have larsen syndrome (it's VERY rare).

I recently went through a similar experience and my doctor told me it was

tendonitis brought on by repetitive strain at work (I'm a writer, always

typing). The cure was two advil and a brace for my elbow/forearm.

Hope this helps.

--Hi Sharon, you might want to go to the links section of the group

and check out the dematone map, it will show you where pain is

coming from in your back or neck. It really is a good site to tell

you what is causing pain in different parts of your body. I am

guessing from what you said about the pins and needles in your upper

back that it sounds like the problems I had with cervical discs. My

neck, shoulders and upper back felt like a board sometimes and I

could never get any relief from it. Also my dr told me that the

trouble I had with my wrist was from that too. I hope and pray that

that is not the case with you. But you should mention it all to your

dr, he might want to have an mri done of your upper back and neck to

make sure there is nothing going on there. Best of luck with your

surgery I hope it gives you relief from the pins and needles. I know

its a pain to deal with. Hope this info helps you some. Sharon Group

p.s. I use a seat massager in my car when I go anywhere it really

seems to help with my pain and a neck pillow helps if you are riding

and not driving too. Any support you can give your back will help.

Also if you haven't tried yet, try moist heat on your upper back,

that will help relive some of the tension that is causing you pain.

These are things I found that helped me, hope they help you some

too. Best of luck.

Sheila,

posting re pins and needles, thought it better to email you than "patersonia" direct as when I have had problems waking with pins and needles in the past it has been B12 and sleep apnea issues - thought you might be able to point this out better than me.
